Default [FIXED] - Norton will i throw it in the bin?

Hi guys, I've recently purchased Norton systemworks 2005 and I am having a terrible time installing it. I had Norton Antivirus 2003 and decided yesterday to upgrade. I was in the process of installing when the computer crashed so I decided to reset the computer(win XP and good spec).? So I went to uninstall programs to manually uninstall any trace of systemworks and install it from scratch again only to get the prompt
Setup has detected that liveupdate or autoliveupdate is running. please stop liveupdate or wait till autoliveupdate is complete.setup will now abort
I now am unable to install either version. I e-mailed Symantec last night but I think after they got my money they're happy.
Does anyone know the name of the liveupdate file or any suggestions on what I should do?

Thanks very much for your time
Tony

You should be able to stop the service and then uninstall the software.
Go into Administrative Tools - Services and look for anything relating to Norton, if the service has been started just stop it.

Alternatively you could try Remove it from safemode.
