Default [Answered] Song Bitrate

I don't really know if this shoud be here, since its more on music than application, but I would really want to know this.

My entire music collection is in WMA VBR quality 75 format. The bitrate as shown in WMP is rarely over 128kbps but the bitrate as shown in Windows Explorer when the mouse is held over it is usually at 10000 plus kbps. So which is more accurate? Is the bitrate in WMP the maximum bitrate the song can now reach? And whats with the 10000 plus bitrate? Thanks.

Default Song Bitrate

Good question, i think it's unlikely that the bit rate is over 10000 kbps as cd quality is 128kbps and is the usual standard for music files, anything higher and you can't really tell the difference. I think explorer has just got confused between bps and kbps, always beleive the thing that isn't microsoft in my experience!

Default Song Bitrate

actually 192kbp is more of a cd quality the higher the bitrate the better of course if u want to burn your music tracks to a cd, burn anything that is minimum 192kbp anything lesser and you'll hear the difference
