    This a good list?

I plan to build a gaming computer. I'll use it for FSX flight simulator. I'm going to have another computer networked to it to handle Plan G, Vatsim, and all other peripheral software.
Here is my list of components so far:
    CPU i5 4690
    GPU GTX 970 or AMD R9 280X
    SSD Crucial MX200 250GB SATA 6Gb/s 2.5" Internal SSD
    OS Windows 7 or 8.1
    MOBO ?
    COOLER ?
    FANS ?
    CASE ?
    P/S 550/600W
MEMORY DDR3 PC-12800 CL Unbuffered NON ECC. 8GB. I have then in my HP Pavilion 6654y
Bought them as an upgrade two months ago. Not sure if I can use them in the new PC.
    Suggestion appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello

    Do you have a budget?

    Few comments

    • The GTX 970 is better than the 280X and uses less power but of course it's more expensive.
    • Any Z97 mobo would be fine.
    • That CPU can't be overclocked so the supplied cooler is fine.
    • Fans usually come with the case.
    • The case is usually a very personal thing but what size case are you after?
    • PSU depends on what GPU you get
    • It's normally better to have 2 sticks of RAM rather than a single 8GB stick.
    • You should be able to use your existing RAM in your new build but obviously this means it will be difficult to sell your old build (if that's your intention).
    • No HDD???

I would suggest that you go with a higher wattage psu...The 970 card minimum system watts is 500 watts.. A 600 to 700 watt psu would work nicely..
