Have you tried another browser?

Options are:

Internet Explorer/Firefox
Avant Browser
Google Chrome

If those browsers work fine then the problem is limited to whichever browser you are using. Try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

If the problem persists then there would seem to be something wrong with the way Windows handles webpages. Let me know if that's the case.

Also what do you mean by webpages disappear? That the active window is just white? Maybe messing about with the View menu would help.

Please post a screenshot of the problem if possible (press Shift+PrintScrn)

It only happens in firefox.

This is my girlfriends computer, and she says she tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but I think that's definitely worth another try... will report back.

You will need to uninstall from the Control Panel

Then delete the Profile which contains the user settings and other things:

Profiles

Note that you will lose all bookmarks etc although they can be backed up. Alternatively maybe resetting all the options to their defaults would work.

Hello farbish!

Any luck with Amtech's suggestion to remove the FireFox Profile and reinstall?

Oh, man. I am so sorry I forgot to come back. When I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of firefox, it seems to have fixed the problem with the webpages.

She still can't install Vista SP2. It just fails. Is there someone around here that can help with that? Is it worth a new thread?

You guys are the best. Thanks.

New thread if you don't mind, Farbish and as much detail as you can provide.

I'll get this marked as FIXED. See you around the forum.
