Hi,
I have a 600gb WD Elements External HD, one folder 108gb in size seems to have become corrupted. It contains some work stuff I had backed up and wondering why this would have happened.
The folders and files within the main folder have all changed to really weird characters.
For example: ∩┬oí¢½¢.}Ω2
When I try to drill into the folders or open files I get the message:
filename "is not accessible"
"The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect
I assume it may be some kind of virus but I have dine scans and nothing is coming up
Thanks,
Dan

Hi dosulli and welcome to the forum,
I would like you do the prework (follow the link in my signature) and post the resulting logs back here. We can then have the security team check them to rule out or help remove any Malware that may be lurking, after which we can get the Techs involved if needed. Thanks for your patience |
