Callmeflint,

The OTM log shows it as having done its job! Perfect! Hmm. That is odd. The ADS log should show up. Could you try running OTL as per the instructions in post two once more please and post the log here?

I ran the OTL as administrator but when it finished I did not get an Extras.txt this time. I checked the old one to make sure it hadn't been written over with new information but it is unchanged since the last time. I have once again split OTL.txt into two logs.

Thank you again for all the help

Hi flint,

Not clean yet, Crush's wrong.

Download HostsXpert Here and unzip it to your desktop.
Next, open HostsXpert
  • Make sure that the "make hosts writable?" button in the upper right corner is checked
  • Now, click on 'back up Host files'
  • then click on 'Restore orginal host files'
  • Finally, close HostsXpert.

Post a new OTL log in your reply. Wait for my reply if you will.

Once again there was no Extras file, and when I ran HostsXpert there was no 'Restore original host files' so I clicked 'Restore MS host files' which I figured is the same thing.

Hello,

How's your PC running now? Are the problems you reported still occurring?

I have not received the popup again since working with this site. You guys are really a lot of help. Thanks.

Is there anything I should do to finish up? For the PreWork I turned off System Restore, should I turn that back on?

THanks again

Flint

Please download and run OTC (formerly OTCleanIt) from here:
http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/OTC.exe

Click the Clean Up! button
This will remove any files and folders associated with some of the programs ran here.
A reboot will be required to complete the removal.

====

And yes, please turn SR back on.
