Its a Dell Inspiron 1525 i'm running Windows Vista Basic SP1. Yea i do have a memory card reader in it as mentioned previously. I tried uninstalling all the drivers for it, but the problem still persists.

I have provided the logs you'll requested, if there's anything else you require just lemme know.

Hi Annihilate,

I'm curious as to why you are not taking the laptop back. It should still be under warranty, and it is not a good start to have your brand new laptop start out with problems 2 days after purchase.

Regardless of whether this is a resolvable problem or not, the laptop should be in perfect condition when you purchase it, obviously yours was not.

We can of couse help you solve the mystery if you wish, but in my opinion the first thing I would do is to have the laptop replaced.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW

Sounds like the card reader may have a power issue so it powers on and off causing this to be re detected by the laptop
