My computer runs really slow when surfing the net, when I launch IE it takes about 40-60 seconds to actually bring up my home page and performance in general is sluggish. I ran Kaspersky's Online scanner and it found 2 viruses, 3 infected objects but I cannot track them down! I have Mcafee virus scan and it came up clean when I scanned in Safe Mode

First of all, you are using an older version of HijackThis. Please do the following to download and install the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2:

CLICK HERE to download the HijackThis Installer:

1. Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
2. Double-click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program.
3. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
4. Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button.
5. Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
6. Click "Save log" to save the log file and then the log will open in Notepad.
7. Click on "Edit -> Select All" then click on "Edit -> Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
8. Come back here to this thread and paste the log in your next reply.
9. Do NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet! Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

You may delete the older version once you have successfully downloaded and installed the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2.

you've got a LOT of startup processes. Those can be trimmed down by going to start > run > msconfig > start up tab and deciding what you want to run on startup. Black Viper has a fantastic site to help figure out what you should have running on a standard rig, gaming rig, etc.

Go to start > run > services.msc > navigate in the right pane to 'viewpoint services', double click to open it, set it to disabled, then navigate to and delete the viewpoint folder in program files.
