Currently logged into pchelpforum via another computer. Wanted to let you know that i followed the instructions which were given from the link, and IE appears to be uninstalled. When the uninstaller prompted me to restart, I did.

The shut-down blue screen came up, however the computer never turned off. So I ended up turning off the computer, from the switch.

When i turned the computer back on, and i attempt to log in, a message came up saying;
"explorer.exe - unable to locate component

This application has failed to start because iertutil.dll was not found. Reinstalling this application may fix this problem."

I am then presented with a screen that only shows my wallpaper. Nothing is able to be opened through tak manager and shut down must be done by the switch as task manager will present me with the blue shutdown screen without the computer actually turning off.

What do i do now?

what is the message on the blue screen?

Can you boot into safe mode? Also, do you have your install disk?

thanks,

Message on blue screen: Windows is shutting down (The normal shutting down screen)

I can boot into safe mode but it just shows me the usual wallpaper of the safe mode, and thats it.

Are you referring to the Windows XP Home Edition Package, if so, yes and how is this use?

Thank-you
