Don't think this one is malware.....go to start > run > eventvwr.msc. That will open an explorer like window with applications, security, and system in the left pane. Click on system and see if there are any exclamation points near to when it last froze; if so, double click on the item in the right pane, click on the two pieces of paper to copy it to your clipboard, and then come back here and paste the results. Then do the same for the applications folder; look for any exclamation marks that are near in time to when your pc is freezing.

Its not like the entire system will freeze. With IE, just that window would freeze (although it doesnt seem to be doing it anymore....however that's probably because I dont touch it anymore :P) In MF i get that windows message saying Mozilla Firefox is no longer responding. How long it takes for that occur after I've opened FF varies, like, just then I went to try out the eventvwr.msc instructions and it took about 15 minutes for the message to come up. (And it occurred at 11.25pm, however nothing was recorded in the Event Viewer.)

With Opera, it doesnt occur very often, like once every three days.

Could you please also explain to me that issue with uninstalling IE which i mentioned in the first post in this thread? Its quite confusing, because I did a search for it on blackle, and a lot of other people seem to be experiencing the same problem too

here's the ms uninstall toolkit for IE7......obviously quite the issue if they had to put a toolkit out for it.

let me know how it goes.
