Default Computer compromised?

I've noticed recently that my computer when visiting almost every site, that words are covered with AdBrite and I was on FilePlanet (Yeah I'm a subscriber with ads turned off) and clicked on a link and tried to forward to:

Code:
http://media.fastclick.net/w/get.media?sid=13261&m=5&tp=6&url=http%3A//www.fileplanet.com/90962/0/section/Patches
I have added loads of ad-**** to my host file to keep it away and use AdBlock on Firefox, so the page doesnt load, I click back and now unable to access some further than the home page of some sites due these ads.

I think something has compromised my computer, ran a BitDefender 2008 test, found 4 things, deleted, didn't fix much, S&D ran a scan and found nothing (fully updated obviously).

I now find it safer using IE (with IE7Pro plugin) than firefox

Any other recommendations?

Got all 3, still getting redirects to websites, one called 'badoink.com' which is not work safe type of content if you get the drift...

Logs seem to show nothings wrong still
