Hi all! About a week ago my computer really slowed down on the internet. It's like going from Dsl back to dial-up! Tonight while I opened my browser I looked at the network tab on task manager and my computer was only using 0.2%. I have noticed also when I download a file, I am only downloading at about 13kb a sec. In the past that used to be up around 300 or so. I am kinda at a loss. I haven't changed anything so I don't know where to begin. I am on a wireless network here at my house but my connection signal and all seems fine. Lemme know what more information I need and also how to get it for ya and I will be glad to retrieve it. Thanks so much for any help you can give me!

Hi, sounds like a malware related problem; could you please follow the prework link in my signature and post the logs back in a reply. I have already moved this to the HijackThis logs section for our Security Team to take a look at your logs when you post them.

alright I followed the directions on your link and I have the logs. Thanks again for your help this has been sooooo frustrating. After all the programs I ran, all they found were tracking cookies and my computer is still only using 0.2% on the networking tab. hope the logs help

Before this problem, how much was your system using on the networking tab?

Download SilentRunners.vbs
Unzip it to a permanent folder.
Read here how to unzip/extract properly:
Help removing and preventing spyware - Compressed folders XP
Start SilentRunners.vbs
When your antivirus is giving an alert, do not block this. Allow the script.
When the scan is done, notepad will open with a log in it. Please close this again.
I'll need that log later.
Normally that log is saved automatically in your silent runners-folder.
Post the log it created.
