Default Computer illiterate is seeking help.

Hello

Erm...haven't done this before so you will excuse the stupid questions and lack of knowledge.

I think i have accidentally downloaded a virus of some kind. I keep getting a System alert on the bottom right of my Taskbar that i am infected with a number of Spyware and my homepage has changed to a blank page. I haven't clicked on the warning even though it says it will download a number of up to date software to help my problem. Quite sure it is the some program that is causing all the problems.

Further more my lifeline, System Restore won't even open.

I have tried a number of scans including spybot s+d, Pc tools spyware doctor, Norton. Please someone help me! I'm desperate

hi slaythebaby and welcome to PCHF.
Please click the Prework link in my signature and post back the the resulting 3 logs. This will allow our security team to analyze them and guide you from there.
If you need any help with the steps then just ask and someone will guide you through it.

Thanks

Thanks dude. That actually did the trick. That Super Anti-spyware was pretty strong stuff. I don't get any pop-ups and my start page is back to normal.

Seems like my computer has started to run slowly though. My system restore still won't work and i just got a end program request for the file rundll32.exe which i reserched as being a worm. I run the program RegistryBooster2 from a diferent site and it said it founf about 119 restry errors but would not fix them without payment.

What should i do? Run the Pre-work again or is there a program that can deal with this thing?

Thank you saviour in my hour of need

Hi there mate.

Run through the Prework and post up the logs, the reason for posting the logs is so the security team can have a look over them and make sure you're clean.

Thanks

Lebowski
