Unhappy PC apps and Internet intermittently slow

The problem started after I finished printing a PDF file. A blue screen came up with the following: VSP 1284D.sys - address EDF 50F97 base at EDF49000, date stamp 37a32048. Something similar happened before and was related to my Xerox printer drivers. I've uninstalled my printer drivers and haven't reinstalled them as the problem lessened but still persists.

I've also done the following, in safe mode: system restore, CCleaner, registryfix, Superantispyware, Spybot search and destroy, Ad-Aware, Avast, AVG Free, a-squared, Dr. Web, sfc /scannow, also the PC hard drive and registry were defragged recently.
I did get the following info after running Avast: logmessenger.dll and USB SIS 163\wlan_163_r105.zip - Installer archive is corrupted......unable to scan

PC applications and the internet are running better after the scans but it's intermittent. They will run well for a while and then the internet and applications slow again for a period.

PC system details:
Dell 170L, CPU: Intel P4, 2.8 GHz
OS: Windows XP 2002 PRO SP2
Explorer version: 6.0.2900.2180
Internet connection: DSL
Firewall and security software: Zonealarm, Avast, a-squared anti dialer, Comodo

The HJT log is attached.

Your advice is appreciated......

regards,
Paul

Not a problem,

Can you bring up your task manager...And wacth it for a minute or 2 and see if the cpu consumption jumps..
Aslo how much RAM do you have?

You can have HJT remove these as well..

I have 512 Mb of Ram. I checked Performance in Task Manager and CPU usage remained around 0 to 4%.....of course, this appears to be a period where everything is working fine.

Should I bother doing Winsock XP fix? LSP? chkdsk?

thanks....

no do not wory about doing chkdsk, or any of that.. I would suggest disabling some of your startup items.. As you do have allot of them so this takes up allot of your ram

also upload the screenshot as a .jpeg. As it will not show up in doc..

go to start..click run..and type in msconfig go to the tab that says startup post a screenshot of what it says so I can inform you what you can disable and what not to.
