i run windows xp professional sp2 and have never had this issue before but recently whenever i open a program of any kind my cpu usage jumps very high and boggs down the computer badly. i checked what processes are running and none are eating that much space so i dont know what the hecks going on below is my hijack this log file please help as soon as you can all help is greatly appreciated

Open up TaskManager.
Crtl-Alt-Delete (XP Pro: choose Task Manager)

Click on the Processes tab.

Look at the CPU column. Click on the header "CPU" twice to sort by CPU usage.

What process is using so much CPU time ? Ignore the System Idle Process. On average, how much CPU percentage is being used by the topmost app ?

This is good news. No app is hogging the CPU cycles. Your PC is fine.

ive never had a problem like this in the past if it is fine what could be causing this, is it a bad processor????

i also attempted replacing the graphics drivers, still no sucess at lowering the cpu usage.... its making games impossible and video even worse.. it jumps whenever i do something as simple as minimizing a window. There has got to be some kind of underlying issue here. i have plenty of ram and a good video card, i dont see what the problem is, can anyone help me brainstorm?
