To start, I am new to this site and wasn't sure where to put this. So if I was wrong and it has to be moved, sorry.
I am a student finishing up high school/starting college at the same time. My high school career has consisted of one Internet high school switching to another on account of life the way it is. Everything, all my documents and all important notices are on my computer so if the solution to my problem could not damage my files that would be appreciated. I left to work for the summer in another state so I had no access to my computer and I believe some people were using it for...purposes. I have now returned and have been using the computer now for a couple weeks. However as soon as I ran a quick virus scan, all heck broke loose.
The problem(s):
* computer restarts approx every 5 minutes.
* rampant pop ups, no matter how many blockers I put on.
* computer runs extremely slow, I can usually manage maybe to access the control panel before it restarts, to give you an idea of how slow.
* if I try to install any program as a supplementary to the existing spyware protection, computer restarts.
* spyware is not being destroyed, files such as c:\windows\system32\gebyv.dll, c:\windows\system32\rqrrss.dll, and others are removed, then replicate themselves so that the software I have is eternally bogged down.
* mutants, Trojans, keyloggers, spyware everything, its several different programs.
* whatever it is it sets all my privacy options to accept any files or cookies.
The slight improvements I've made:
*whatever it is it keeps trying to access the Internet, and since it was doing me no good, I removed my computer from the Internet, this helped it go a little bit faster.
* after this I deleted all cookies/temp Internet files, my computer ran a little better, now I can manage more, but only when it's off-line and I'm not running any antivirus software. the computer still restarts every 5 minutes.
Many, many thanks to whoever can help me, in advance.
