Oh yeah, it's running fine, thanks for asking. I have clicked the "thank you" button for your help mate!
I just don't know what free anti-virus i should use, because the McAfee that came with the machine has expired already. I have installed the avg not to be unprotected, but i read in a few posts here that avast is quite good either. I don't know if i can ask you this in here or if i should create a new thread about it, but what free anti-virus do you reckon works better on a laptop?

Is there anything i can help you out?

Cheers!

Hi there .

I can say Avast is a very good product, I haven't had a virus in ages since using Avast, it also seems to use low resorces.

Then again AVG is also pretty good, try out both and see how you like them .

Yeah, i'm enjoying AVG right now, it just caught two motherfuc*ing viruses!!!
A Trojan horse Generic6.UMU and a Trojan horse Generic6.UMS!
They were at the c:/program files/install shield!

How come McAfee never got them???

I use avg, both the av and the antispyware, and then use zonealarm as a firewall; all free.

Glad to hear the machine is running good, going to mark this fixed. Hope you stick around, bodhi; we are ALWAYS looking for good minds to help out, and this is a great site to learn and share at.

thanks,

v
