Hi Chiaz: Since I got cox cable high speed internet, my computer is faster than ever -- internet-wise anyway. I've still got that annoying clicking in my monitor and the display setting changes with each click. Someone suggested that it's time for a new monitor. Do you agree? If so, how do I know what's compatible with my hp pavilioin 763n? My current monitor is the hp pavilion mx75

Thanks again,

Linky

I'm not sure if that is caused by your monitor - it could be a faulty graphic card or something else.

I'll get one of the tech team to come in and advise you.

Ahem... okay --you won't believe this.
According to HP support page for that PC --it is normal for that monitor to "make noises" when switching resolutions.
I swear -- I'm not ,making this up... see for yourself.
Never heard of such a thing.

HP and Compaq CRT Monitors -  Monitor Makes Noise

Yes, it has always made that clicking noise after settings are changed, which wans't very often. Now, however, it clicks on and off and changes the settings an average of 20+ times per day. The click I hear now sounds different than the "normal" clicking noise. I have never seen anything about it before, so I thought it was just an anomoly. I'm starting to believe that my monitor has seen better days and it's time to replace it.

How do I know what's compatible with my computer? Where can I find the best bargains?

Thanks again,

Linky
