Default Background Problem

Hello: Newbie here, forgive me if I miss any pertinent info. I keep scanning my computer with Ad-Aware 2007, SpyBot Search and Destroy, Windows Defender, and Norton 2007, and I constantly find either spyware or a Vundo trojan. I am told by SpyBot that the problem was eliminated in SafeMode (one file had to be cleaned upon restart) and Norton is constantly blocking and/or finding and deleting the trojan. As I type this, I am receiving popups, even though my blocker is on and I have restriced those sites through Security.

My main problem, before I found everything else. was that my active desktop kept shutting off, and I'd get a script error every time I tried to reinstate it; I used to be able to just reapply my photo background, but now all I am able to do is change the background color; everything else is greyed out. In addition, I turned off the "lock web items on desktop" option I got by right-clicking the background, and my picture shows up tiled; however, I cannot alter it.

My HijackThis logfile is below:

Hello, and welcome to PCHF.

1. Rename HijackThis.exe to Rename.exe.
2. Download this file - combofix.exe
3. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
4. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply, along with a new HijackThis log.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

The download page cannot be displayed; also, do I rename the HiJack This program itself (the icon with the dynamite and plunger)? Thanks- Keg.

Hello.

It was made known to me that DarkLord7854 had settled your problem via pm. Can you please confirm this, so I can determine whether this problem is fixed.

We are attempting to fix the problem; from what I have recently discerned, the trouble seems to lie in a Trojan.Vundo virus that I can't shake (slow type speed, Internet constantly cannot display pages, popups, Norton notification lol) so I have notified DarkLord7854 and am awaiting his instruction.

As such, I would appreciate keeping this thread open for the time being, until it is made evident that he cannot help me.

Thanks.

As a thumb of rule, we only handle problems via the main forum and the chatroom itself. We do not answer queries or problems via pm, unless absolutely necessary.

Furthermore, while Darklord's eagerness to help is commendable, only trusted helper groups here are allowed to assist in Malware Removal. More information is available at:
http://www.pchelpforum.com/hijackthi...tructions.html

If you trust me enough to help, please post a new HijackThis log in your next reply, and we'll take it from there.
