Your problem seems to be something relating to Nvidia. I'm not that good, OK, I admit I'm bad with issues that are not malware-related.
But a bit of research indicated that your problem can occur after you install Creative Audigy cards/software. Do you have any of each in your system?

Overmars, from reading chaiz response, I think you might need a driver update.
If you have a Creative Audigy card/software, then this might help.

Then, click on AutoUpdate
You might also need other drivers. I assume you are using Windows XP.
First, check your system drivers by clicking on Start>Windows(Microsoft) Update. Click for Custom updates. Install any indicated drivers. Second, recommend you click on
