Okay guys here is my problem. I restored my PC (deletle everything than reinstall the OS) not to long ago ( 4 months ago i believe) and I am about to do it again and i really dont want to. For some reason my after my computer goes into standby (for any ammount of time) and comes out of it, when i run a program, (such as the game Starcraft or Adobe Premiere Elements 3) my computer runs it for a little and then shuts off without warning. (like a hardshock). I have posted my Hijack This file here for all of you to review to see if you can sight a problem.

Another thing to consider is that i am a person who is very smart with computers and who has tweeked my computer via registry and other programs that tweek the registry. (such as tunexp, sysMec 6, and others) I dont know if this could be a reson be i need to fix this because standby is crucial to me.

However, you said. "deletle everything than reinstall the OS". Deleting everything does not help you. You need to reformat in order to insure that everything is cleaned before reinstalling.

No no...what i meant was i formatted my PC with the restore cd.

I'm confused. Is that a hijackthis log that you want us to look at? If so, click on the prework link in my sig and d/l the older version, 1.99, and run that.

If you've reformatted entirely, that will eliminate any viral/malware issues. If you just ran a restore install, chances are that didn't get all the malware......so I guess what I'm asking is what the status is.....

Okay guys, lets ignore the fact that i formatted my computer. I need you guys to look at my Hijack This file and tell me if there could be anything that is possibly causing my problem.

sounds like a plan.....need to get you back on 1.99 first, though.....as below:

Please do this:

· Click here to download HJThis.exe
· Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
· Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
· By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
· Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialogue.
· Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
· Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
· At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
· Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
· Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
· Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
· DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
