Hello Norris.

Was the HijackThis ran in normal mode or safe mode?

Please run HijackThis in normal mode and place a checkmark by the following entries:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

Close all other windows except HijackThis and press "Fix Checked". Then close HijackThis and restart the computer.

Please rescan with HijackThis and post the new log in your next reply. Also what problems are you having?

HijackThis log looks clean. Please run the following free, online virus scan.
Free online antivirus. ActiveScan. Panda Software

Post the log generated in your next reply, and we'll take it from there.

For your problem in searching files, I found this on the web:
Can not search my computer
It seems that
TweakUI may work for your issue, so give it a try. The download link is:

Download: CCleaner (freeware)
|MG| Free Download - CCleaner Slim (No Yahoo Toolbar, English) 1.40.520
Run the installer.
Once installed, run CCleaner click the Windows [tab]
The following should be selected by default, if not, please select:

Next: click Options click the Settings tab
Uncheck: "Only delete files older than 48 hrs.", click Ok
Then click Run Cleaner (bottom right). You may have to wait about a minute or so.

Next go to the Issues tab. Ensure that everything is checked, before clicking Scan for Issues. Wait till the scan is complete, it should not take very long. After the scan is complete, click Fix Selected Issues. Click Yes when asked to backup changes to the registry. Fix all the selected issues.

Then close CCleaner and restart the computer.

Download Avenger from here:
Swandog46’s Public Tools Page

Open the program. Check the 'Input script manually' option.
Click the Magnifying Glass icon.
In the box that opens, paste this:

Files to delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\actskn45.ocx

and click 'Done'

Click the Traffic Light icon to start the program, and OK the prompts to reboot your PC.

Post the Avenger output.txt, which you can find at C:\Avenger\.txt, as well as a new Panda ActiveScan log. Hopefully everything should be alright now.
