excellent!

just the search engine in start still wont work ive tried tweakui however there arent any options for "search results" in the list ? as explained in your previous link so its still saying inexpected error??

Can not search my computer

It involves the registry, so be sure to perform a backup before attempting the fix. If you need more advice on how to proceed, do not hesitate to post back. Let us know how it goes.

No problem.

Attached below is a Notepad file.
Save it to your desktop, then change the filename from fixme.txt to fixme.reg.
After this is done, look at the icon on the desktop again. There should be a change to it.
Then double click FixME.reg. It will ask you if you want to merge it to the registry, click Yes.

fixme.txt

hi thanks chiaz, i am now gonna sound so stupid but i cant rename it so it changes to a registry file !!!

Can anyone help ????

Have you downloaded the file I attached above?

Once you've downloaded it, right-click on the file. On the context menu, you will see Rename. Click on it, and you will be able to change the filename.
