is there anything i can do to fix this other than booting from my windows disk and going on repair my windows installation?
I'm afraid that may have to be the next course of action, short of a complete hard disk reformat.

yeah, i suppose. i'll do that then. if that doesn't worjk then i suppose i'll have to format.
luckily i backed up my whole disk about 2 weeks ago before this all started. so if i do have to format then i can still restore all the stuff

ok i done that but noiw it bluescreens every time i start it up while it says windows loading...
so i'm going to re-install windows instead of repairing, i won't format but just re-install.
