jus lately system idle process has begun to overtake my cpu whilst iv bin usin my pc ill b playin music an system idle process will max out my cpu at 90% forcin my screen to freeze 4 about 2 seconds an make my pc totaly unresponsive

System idle process can run up to 100% CPU as this is perfectly normal. Your freezes must be down to something else...is there anything else in the task list running high?

its only started in the last few days. iv used my laptop for over 8 months without this problem an im not usin any difrent programs. i can hv no other programs or process' with high demand of the cpu and idle process will use up so much of my cpu the screen begins to freeze up for a couple of seconds. i use task manager alot to change process priorty and hv dun 4 many months in this time iv never seen idle process use so much of my cpu.

Hi ultim8stoner, can you please follow the prework link in my signiture, and post the resulting logs back here?

System Idle Process is exactly that - it's a process entry to show you how much CPU power you're not using.

ugh well im half way through the virus scan...its sad to watch...idle process is slowing down the scan to a point im thinkin of goin out to lunch in hope its dun wen i return

after usin my pc a while its gone bk to normal. but if either of those 3 attachments say wot was wrong cud u tell me?
