Hello, and sorry for the delay. In the event next time (although we hope there won't be a next time) that we fail to reply after 48 hours, post a note here and we'll be on to it. This goes for all other members as well:
http://www.pchelpforum.com/hijackthi...-your-log.html

Please run HijackThis and place a tick by the following entries:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O4 - Global Startup: Exif Launcher.lnk = ?

Close all other windows except HijackThis and press "Fix Checked". Then close HijackThis and restart the computer now.

Other than that, there appears to be no major faults with your logs...are you still experiencing problems with the system?

hi,

thanks for the response! I tried what you said and I am still getting ie pop-ups. Not sure if Explorer is still crashing as it didn't happen all that frequently before. One thing to note...when I tried fixing those 2 spots you suggested, it fixed them, but then gave me this in a message box

"Unexpected error occurred!
Error #52 (Bad file name or number) in Sub GetLongPath(?.exe).

Please send a report to merijn@spywareinfo.com, mentioning what you were doing, and what version of Windows you have.

This message has been copied to your clipboard."

Do those pop-ups occur only when you visit certain sites?

Delete your HijackThis file, then download a new one. That usually does the trick.

no, they pop up all the time when I'm using Firefox, and it seems very random when explorer crashes. No matter, I just talked to a friend of mine that works for XBox live and he's hooking me up with a $5 copy of Vista Ultimate early next week, so I'll just format and restart. Thanks a bunch for all the help on this site, even though I didn't resolve my situation, i can see this is a great site to bookmark and come back to when I have a problem in the future. I commend you guys for putting all this work into helping others without charging a dime.
