[Pending] Internet Help...Once Again
Well, I come back to my dorm room, after a weekend at home, and my internet has completely gone haywire. I can visit most websites, but some just decide to stop loading when i click on links or whatnot. This problem has never occured before.
Also, whenever I sign onto a messenger, Xfire, AIM, MSN, they all let me on for about two seconds, and then they just sign off, and on again, and off, and on, and so on.
I was just wondering if I could get some help.

try clearing all your internet cache and going from there. Please do the following, and let me know what happens. Beware that this WILL delete your web-based saved passwords, such as for hotmail and the like.
Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only- Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browser- Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browser- Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu. Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.

Yeah. the messengers still dont work, and the sites are all slow loading, if they load at all.
I had a problem similar to this a few months back, but we found out it was because of BitComet being on while surfing the web and/or playing games. But this time nobody on my network has bitcomet.
Im stumpped.
Id call my isp, but last time I did, they just gave me a new router, that did nothing.
thanks

go ahead and run through the prework in my signature, and post an avg and an hjt log, and we'll take a look there.

go to start > run > eventvwr.msc. That will open an explorer like window with applications, security, and system in the left pane. Click on system and see if there are any exclamation points near to when it last froze; if so, double click on the item in the right pane, click on the two pieces of paper to copy it to your clipboard, and then come back here and paste the results. Then do the same for the applications folder; look for any exclamation marks that are near in time to when your pc is freezing.
thanks,
