Default [Pending] NSIS error

when i download anything at all, every file seems to be currupted. i have got firefox and i have been googleing this problem and i tried freedownloadmanager but nothing happens.

The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete.
This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus.

You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new copy.

It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch
(NOT RECOMMENDED).

thats what i get when i try to install anything.

ill post the hijackthis files thing to see if any one can do anything to h
help with it

Well, the problem is you are using a torrent file to download stuff. I'm not sure if we are allowed to assist you on that, checking with one of the bosses; hang on a sec.

FWIW, if you do use a torrent client to d/l stuff, you are just looking for trouble; granted, they are used for legit purposes, such as getting out linux and other new releases, but the majority of the stuff d/l on there is hacks, cracks, and other stuff that is somewhat copywritten, and also absolutely rife with viruses and other malware and junk.

Let me find out for you, I'll post back shortly.

Thanks for your patience, Tom, much appreciated.

Cool, I just saw the free download manager and one of the first sites I read on it was for torrent stuff..... ; if you could do me a favor, click on the prework link in my signature and follow all the instructions in there. You will end up with two logs, one being an AVG log (make sure you choose to have the items it finds quarantined) and a new HJT log; please post back with both, and we'll get to work on cleaning you up.

Thanks,

v

okay, it's looking pretty good. Open hjt, click 'perform system scan only', and place a check next to the following and click 'fix checked:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

Then, just for grins, let's make sure with one more scan on a different algorithm.

Panda

Please go HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan
  • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
  • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
  • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report and one more hjt list.

If avg didn't find anything, I doubt this will either, but after what avg DID find, it's good to get a second opinion.

thanks,

v
