Hi,
I have been reading the protect your pc post and it says

Anti Spyware
(You should have all of these installed on your computer, but only leave one running for protection)
Adaware SE Spybot S&D SpywareBlaster
*this one is a shield recommended by SpyBot S&D to keep things out
Spy Sweeper
* This is a 30 day free trial but the program is so good we've included it as an option
from http://www.pchelpforum.com/tutorials...tml#post136696

I only have Adaware SE, spybot S&D, and Windows defender, as spyware protectors at the moment.
Does anyone have any good/bad things about the other protectors on the list?

Thanks, Jake

I use adaware and spybot and seem to be fine with those. I also run ATF Cleaner.

Jake:

good to see you again. I use avg antivirus, zonealarm firewall, and scan with avg/ewido antispy monthly. For anything serious I use hijack this to point me in the right direction, and about once a month I use panda online scan.

hope that helps,

v

Thanks,

I do basically the same as you valis, but I don't use hijackthis. I can't do the activescan at the moment becuase it always comes up with and error report box

I looked at it and it showed this:

AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 7.0.6000.16414 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00000000

It also said that it would send this:

C:\DOCUME~1\Jacob\LOCALS~1\Temp\efd8_appcompat.txt

Its probably somthing wrong with my computer, however I had been able to do it before I reformatted.

go to that location (
C:\DOCUME~1\Jacob\LOCALS~1\Temp\efd8_appcompat.txt ) and see what it says....if possible, post it here for us to take a gander at.

thanks,
