It seems that Killbox hasn't done anything at all. Did you run it successfully?

I thought it did.... out in all the things that you had said.. but then ran all the rest of the scans as it was late and avast found another.... McAfee firewall had mentioned about a worm in email.... stopped those, but avast found another within the first minute of scan. It's chested now and when I send mail, no more warnings... I need to find the log for it to post, but my last one of cslid didn't go.... so...... ?!?
I'll try again to export it.

That was something else weird.. after findiing that one, lost all my icons. Went into winexplorer as I always do, and there wasn't a single one. Started up today ok.. they are all back, but that was strange.

Ok.. there is that one.

Well.. more info... hopefully some answers... 98SE system. Latest run of Avast, McAfee and Stinger... tonight... 30 or so minutes ago.

Here is what I have, so, what next?

And while I am asking questions... why doesn't the 'restart' work anymore? It just sits there saying "Winshuttingdown" but never does... however, if I tell it to Shutdown, it does. Curious.

Looks ok to me, the only thing detected was something in Sunbelt CounterSpy.

Would you mind rescanning one more time with Panda ActiveScan?

I'll ask around about your restart problem.

Hey Guys,

@Chia - I think that we are missing something basic in this fix. Reread the thread, and see if you get the same impression. I think we may need to step back and start from scratch to make sure that everything is being identified.

@Sir Trews - Can you please run Bitdefender, Kaspersky, and Housecall (from my sig), as well as Panda Active Scan. I think you may have a very hidden virus, that is good at protecting itself, and I don't think we have identified it yet.

Please let all programs fix everything that they find, and save any logs that are offered to you to post back here. Then please boot into Safe Mode, make sure that all System files, and Hidden files are shown. Run CCleaner with all options selected, including Advanced, answer OK to every warning. Repeat the process until either no further files are available to clean, or the same files show up and cannot be cleaned. If you come across files that cannot be cleaned, right click on them, choose Properties, Security tab, Advanced, and give yourself full ownership of the files. Then manually delete them.

Then click on Issues, make sure all options are selected, click on Find Issues, then Fix Selected Issues. You can name the backup today's date. Let it fix everything that it finds.
Repeat until no further issues are located.

Now rerun Spy Sweeper, under Options, Sweep tab, choose Custom Sweep, and make sure that ALL options are selected. Run a full system scan, and let it fix everything that it finds. Save the log to post back here.

Once we see if any of these scans are identifying anything new, we will be in a better position to proceed.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW
