well ever since i got intenernet connection my router had been flashing red lights every once-in-a-while. and while playing counter-strike or whatever, it would boot me off the internet saying i had lost connection to server, or connection problem. I called the internet service provider and they sent somone over and gave us a new router. but it still cuts out every so often. any ideas?

Hello hem,

Welcome to PCHF.

Go to Start, Run and type in Eventvwr
In both "Application" and "System", look around that time for any errors to see if there maybe a PC problem. Have you requested any upgrades to your line? Also, which ISP are you with?

"Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 001731F8A98C. The following error occurred:
The operation was canceled by the user. . Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server."

this was one of the warnings. and there are a few tcpip ones too
like this one

"TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts."

and that happenes like..atleast 10-15 times a day. if not more. its annoying.

and yeah there are no upgrades from them. i have At&T/SBC whatever they are now.
thanks

Not sure about the first one, but the second one is definately familar ("TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts."). This is normally malware. First of make sure you have no other internet related software running at the time. If you still have the error, follow PCHF Prework on my signature, post your HJT log back here, and we'll get a member of security to check for malware.
