Default [Resolved] Icons disappearing

Problem: I started having what look like small bar-codes above and below my cursor. Then they started in my icons(desktop and files icons) and in the 3 symbols for minimize, expand and shut-down. Then the icons started disappearing. At one time I typed in an URL address and the letters were just tall lines. Rebooting helps some but they start again and are getting worse.
I have ran Norton Anti-Virus (updated definitions). Downloaded and ran the trial versions of Exterminate, Spyhunter, TrojanHunter and PestPatrol - didn't work. Tried re-installing the icons with right clicking>properties>change icons - didn't work. I set my clock back to 2004 - didn't work. Now I have followed your advice and ran ATF-Cleaner, AVG Anti-Spyware and Hijack This. With AVG-Spyware I could not see a button "Apply all actions" but there were no infections. Please can you help? Thank-You. Jamie

This is not a virus or any kind of malware.Your log is fine. All I can suggest is that you do a System Restore, going back to a date before this all happened, and see if that helps...

Pancake, Thank You. I deleted my system restore when I followed all the directions to clean my system and prevent re-infection. I do believe I have found something. When I readjust my slider in Display Properties>setting tab>advance>troubleshooting> and set it on the 3rd mark from the right it clears up most of the trouble but some icons are still gone. It says the adjustment is for graphies hardware. Now is that for my monitor or my video card? I have a Dell and the 4 diagnostic lights say that the video card is OK. Any thoughts?

I dont normaly dabble in that kind of stuff but it will adjust your card so it displays on your monitor better. You might also think of updating your driver and see if that helps
