Default [Closed] Un-Removeable File?

Hi, I have the same problem as someone had a long time ago (Well, i notice the problem searching threw google, and the same problem as in your archives)

Hi. This is my first time ever posting on a forum of this type. I really hope someone can help me. This morning I downloaded a video, but once it was done, the filename was nothing like what it was supposed to be. I tried to delete it, but when I right clicked it there was no option to delete it. I tried just pressing delete but that did nothing. Same for dragging it into the Recycle Bin. I also can't move the file or rename it.

Keep in mind I did not know that's what was downloading. When I right click the file the only options that appear are Play, Add To Now Playing List, Add To Playlist, Add To Sync List, Add To Burn List, Open With, Send To.
Now, apparently he got it removed somehow, but he didnt post how he fixed it :P

What i've done so far, tried removing it via safe mode, tried scanning it threw safe mode using NOD32, tried doing so many things but that **** file wont disappear... Its hunting my computer, and now i cant even do anything on the net.. wont even load (on laptop roght now) Right now at this second, im running norton anti-virus threw safe mode.

If you guys can help.. lots of thanks to you guys.

Hello SpecialEffect,

Welcome to PCHF.

What file are you trying to remove? Try using Unlocker Assistant: Free Download Unlocker 1.8.5 - Unlocker can unlock in-use files

I;m having the same issue like him... I downloaded a movie, then it somehow changed name? o.O very wierd, never saw it happen... I'll download Unlocker Assitant, and see if it will delete... If not, ill do the PreWork thingy, and post the logs.

& Hi, to you, and pchf

Okay, well the un-lock assistant isnt doing much... When i right click on the file, it doesnt have the "unlock" function.... What i'll do now is, ill try the prework thingy you guys got, get the logs.. and post them here.

Thanks.

Odd, you might also want to try this link by Knight_Wolf: http://www.pchelpforum.com/tutorials...file+safe+mode

In the meantime I'll transfer this thread to the HJT log section, and notifiy the security team. Sit tight!
