Hi Dpu,

My welcome to the forums to you. The problem as I see it is that you have started three different threads with out resolving the problems in the first two. As your first two threads were related I have merged them. Were you able to resolve those issues?

If so, it may well be that you have more serious problems than just Word not working. Please follow the instructions for PreWork in my signature, and post back the AVG log here.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Default Rebooting

My PC reboots when using MS word. Only in word. I just upgraded. All hardware seems okay. Nothing is hot, fans work. I can leve computer running all day without hang ups or bogging. Formatted drive. I did have some concerns when installing old WinXP as the disk was scratched and I had to skip a few files during instalation. Here is my hijack report as well as my spyware scan. Please note that The spyware did find a threat in limewire download folder. That file was never executed. It was downloaded, scanned and I just simply forgot to delete it. Hre are my reports as attatchments.

Hey Dpu,

Your not too badly infected, but you should uninstall that Lemmings Revolution Patch you downloaded from Limewire. It infected you with a worm.

Also, download Shoot the Messenger from my signature, and run it. It will disable Windows Messenger, an unnecessary utlity that leaves you vulnerable to PopUp attacks.

When you say that you recently upgraded, what exactly are you referring to? I have just spoken with another person who is encountering the EXACT same symptoms with Word that you are describing. He recently upgraded to IE7. I'm wondering if there is a connection.

Did you notice this phenomena prior to upgrading to IE7? Have you tried doing a complete uninstall of Office, and then reinstall?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Default Rebooting

I did upgrade to IE7, I don't know if there is a connection, as I did it the same time as everything else. I hadn't upgraded IE7 until this recent reformatting. No I have not reinstalled MS word yet. I suppose I need to. I will let you know if problem persist. It would be nice to know if IE7 was the problem. Thank you.
