I am afraid I am back to ask your advice/help again. The previous thread was a porblem on a different computer than this one. Also, the thread has been closed. If I am starting a new one and that is wrong to do, I apologize in advance.
2 days ago, on this computer, Norton's popped up with a Downloader alert. The first message said: C:\DOCUME~1\AMDtp\Temp\TIF\Content.IE5\2HVQD91F\ne w[1].htm
Access denied. Unable to remove.
As I closed that out, I got: C:\Windows\Temp\SOS98F.temp
Auto-Deleted
As I closed that out, a pop up showed: A suspected security risk has been blocked
Adware.ZQuest
The Norton's info for the Downloader said low risk, and to disable system restore, delete all un-necessary files/processes, and run scan in safe mode and delete all traces. I did that, and nothing was found. I also ran AVG Anti Spyware 7.5 and it found tracking cookies. I thought the problem was perhaps solved.
Tonight, on the same computer, while surfing for greeting card templates, Norton's popped up with a Downloader alert. This said: C:\Windows\Temp\SOSCE.temp
Auto-Deleted
When I closed that window out, I got the following pop-up:
C:\DOCUME~1\AMDtp\Temp\TIF\Content.IE5\5U7DK5OR\ne w[1].htm
Autodeleted
When I clicked on the Norton's info link for Downloader, I got the same info and instructions as the previous time described above. I have diasabled/re-enabled system restore...run ATF cleaner...and ran HJT. Then I ran AVG and it found 34 tracking cookies, that were deleted. Then, I went to safe mode and ran AVG, and it found nothing. I will post The AVG scan from safe mode and HJT log done before runnig AVG in the next post.
Can u advise if there is anything I need to do/remove? Is there something elese I can do to prevent these downloader attempts/alerts that randomly pop up when I surf, or do I just let Norton's keep blocking? Is there something else I may be doing worng? I would very much appreciate your advice/info. Thank u in advance.

Hello.
![]() Your logs appear clean to me. I guess that as long as Norton is doing its job and blocking them as they should be, your computer should be all fine. Just for a third opinion though, perform an online virus scan with F-Secure Online Scanner. * Click here to use the F-Secure Online Scanner
