Unfortunately it is to long, so I have to split it in two.

Hi Anna -- Welcome to PCHF-- please bear with us... the security team is a very busy group these days. Unfortunately.

Someone will be along shortly.

Hey Guys,

@Anna, my welcome to the forums as well, and I too am very sorry about the delay in getting to your logs.

Let's see what we can do for your sister's computer.

Be back as soon as possible.

Hi Anna, I'm back,

Could you please post the AVG log that was generated during the PreWork? Also, ask Teresa to please uninstall HijackThis completely, and reinstall it by unzipping it to a folder that she creates on either her desktop, or in her Program Files. Currently it is installed in a Temp folder, which can cause problems.

While I am waiting to look at the AVG log, please also have your sister uninstall the Logitech Desktop Manager, it is causing some major problems on her PC.

When you post the AVG log, can you please post a new HJT log, after the Logitech Desktop Manager uninstall, and the HJT reinstall? Thanks,

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Hi Anna,

Please post all logs as attachments, you can put them on the same post that way. Thanks,

OK, looking over your AVG log, it shows no action taken, did you not allow it to fix what it found? If you did stop it from fixing what it found, please run it again, and this time let it fix everything.

Let me look at the HJT log real quick and see if it shows anything.

By the way, you never explained what difficulties your sister was having. Can you please post a description? Thanks,

TTFN

OK, there are still a couple of things coming up in the HJT log.

You can fix these with HJT:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet
Settings,ProxyOverride = localhost
O9 - Extra button: ScaricaMP3 - {EF6D6AE3-2625-40D6-A5AB-920DFD2DAF8C}
- C:\Documents and Settings\Teresa\Application Data\ScaricaMP3.exe
(file missing)
Make sure to delete this file from your C drive if it still exists
C:\Documents and Settings\Teresa\Application Data\ScaricaMP3.exe

Also, I see remnants of Symantec but I don't see the service running. If this is something that was uninstalled it didn't uninstall completely. Please let me know so that we can remove it.

I also do not see a firewall or current Anti Virus application running. Please read, and have your sister read the article, PCHF Protecting Your PC, in my signature. It will explain a lot of things to do in order to protect yourself from infections.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN
