Default [Fixed] Background display problem

Hi! This is my first time here and I'm hoping someone can help me. I found a previous thread from cpc_6182 "cannot change computer background" from 2/19/06 that is almost identical to my problem. I ended up w/ a trojan- ran program to clean- and haven't been able to change my background since- blank screen. WHen my computer first starts up I can see my previous background for a second before it goes to blank screen. My different virus scan/spyware programs haven't picked up anything, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I could really use some help! I followed suggestions and am attaching a AVG scan log as well as hijackthis log. Any advice would be appreciated!

Try this...
  • Click Start » Run » type: Notepad » OK
  • Copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the following text inside the quote box below (starting with REGEDIT4) to Notepad.
REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\System
"Wallpaper"=SZ:C:\WINDOWS\desktop.html]
  • Make sure there are no black spaces before REGEDIT4 and there should be one blank line at the end.
  • Click File at the top and then choose Save As.
  • Change Save As Type to All Files.
  • Name it FixME.reg and save it on your desktop.
  • Its icon should look like this :
  • Double click FixME.reg. It will ask you if you want to merge it to the registry, click Yes.

Reboot your PC. Is the problem fixed?

I just tried that and it didn't work. I'm worried I might have something as my computer has been so slow lately, but nothing picks up on mcafee viruscan, webroot spy sweeper or AVG. I don't know if that has anything to do with my background issue or not, but since I don't know much about this stuff, I would really appreciate any help to fix this! Thanks in advance- I have faith you'll figure this out for me!!
