sorry.
I did not pick up the reference.
If you are not familar with the dialup information in this entry, or if it is old, please fix this as well;

No worries, two posts is as good as one.

The 017 entry from your HJT log, is listing IP information which may be relevant to your dial up configuration, an old configuration, or it could be suspicious. If you recognize the IP info, leave it it's fine, if it's old, or you don't know it, you can fix it.

Hope that helps,

TTFN

205.188.146.145 belongs to America Online, Inc. Is that your ISP? If it is, you can safely leave that entry alone.

I followed the instructions of LGW from post #18 with the exception of the OS CD to repair damaged or missing system files. This laptop was handed down to me w/o any documentation.
Nonetheless, I proceeded w/ the rest of the directions and the Windows Installer problem is now gone. I would guess it had something to do w/ MS Office which required removal and reinstallation.
However, there is now a new problem. Periodically, I get an error box titled 'Just-in-Time Debugging' and the message reads 'An exception Run Time Error has occured in Script. However, no debugger is registered that can debug this exception. Unable to JIT bug.'
Thanks for all the support.
