I notice you have, in the period of time since we have last communicated, downloaded and installed PestTrap, perhaps albeit unwittingly. PestTrap is a rogue anti-spyware application that uses fake alerts and false positives as a goad into scaring you into purchasing their software. This software is usually installed by Trojans that issue fake security alerts in your Windows taskbar stating that you are infected with a variety of malware. When you click on this warning, PestTrap will be download and installed and start scanning your system.

Please run SmitfraudFix again. The instructions are on my post above, if you have already deleted this program, please redownload it.


I also notice you have NewDotNet in your computer. I suggest you remove it unless you deliberately installed it. It is extremely dubious and commercially sponsored:

First, please open Add/Remove programs and uninstall New.Net or NewDotNet from there if listed. If it is not listed, follow these instructions:

· From a computer that has Internet access, click on the following link:
http://www.new.net/support/uninstall6_90.exe.
· Download and save uninstall6_90.exe to the Desktop.
· Go to the Desktop and double-click on uninstall6_90.exe
· Click on the OK button.
· After removal, you may be prompted to reboot. Please reboot even if not prompted.



Next, run HijackThis and place a checkmark by the following entries if they still exist:

PC Hell: How to Start Windows in Safe Mode

Run HijackThis and check the following entries again:

Close all other windows except HijackThis and press "Fix Checked". Then close HijackThis and restart the computer. You should get back to normal mode.


Navigate to and delete the following folder if still present:
C:\Program Files\outlook\


Now download Ad-Aware SE Personal and install it. If you already have Ad-Aware SE, please configure it as indicated below. If you have a previous version of Ad-Aware, please uninstall your current version and install the newest version SE 1.06.

1) Run Ad-Aware, and click Check for updates now.

2) Select Configurations (click the Gear wheel at the top) as follows:
  • General Button > Safety & Settings: Check (Green) all three.
  • Tweak Button > Cleaning Engine > UNcheck "Always try to unload modules before deletion".
Click Proceed.

3) To start the scan, Click > "Scan Now" at left
  • Deselect "Search for negligible risk entries" as negligible risk entries (MRU's) are not considered to be a threat.
  • Select "Search for low-risk threats"
  • Select "Perform full system scan"
  • Click Next
4) When the scan has completed, select Next.
  • In the Scanning Results window, select the "Critical Objects" tab.
  • Right-click on the screen and choose "Select all objects"
  • Click Next to remove the infections found, and click OK to the prompt.
  • Restart the computer.


Rescan with HijackThis and post the log in your next reply.
