Default [Resolved] Sluggish performance, something nasty suspected

Hi, I hope you can help me with what seems to be a virus problem.

My system is running slowly right now and there have been some strange goings-on, such as my firewall removing itself and my internet connection speed acting very sluggishly. I have a variety of virus and spyware programs (listed below) but only two of them found any problems. Anti-Trojan 5.5 found a couple of problems (see further below) which it says it fixed. eTrust Pest Patrol finds ‘CnsMin’ and an ‘Un-named Trojan’ (in hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\curr entversion\run). However, I cannot fix these errors because I only have the trial version. Is this a real problem worth buying the licence for? I only ask because nothing else finds this problem…SpyBot refuses to update (‘Bad checksum!’) but always finds the same problem (Microsoft.WindowsSecurityCenter_disabled), which it claims to fix.

I followed your prefix suggestions but I'm unable to install AVG Anti-Spyware. It's been stuck at the half-way point of installation for the last 5 minutes. This is not good, especially since I had to remove eWido before starting installation...

Protection Programs on my machine:
eWido anti-spyware (not any more!)
SpyBot SD
eTrust Pest Patrol
AVG Free
Ad-Aware SE
Spyware Doctor
Spyware Blaster
Registry Mechanic
Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall
Anti-Trojan 5.5
Msblastremover.exe
Anti Spyware 2005 (by Checkflow software)

I’ve just ordered McAree’s complete package.

As well as my machine running slightly sluggishly, it seems that I also cannot burn with Nero anymore?!

I seems to me that you have far to many anti virus programs running. It may be that this is your slow down problem.I would disable them all and see if there is an improvment and also do a cleanup with this...and also do a defrag.

Download and scan with CCleaner
1. Starting with v1.27.260, CCleaner installs the Yahoo Toolbar as an option which IS checkmarked by default during the installation. IF you do NOT want it, REMOVE the checkmark when provided with the option OR download the toolbar-free Basic or Slim versions instead of the Standard Build.
2. Before first use, select Options > Advanced and UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"
3. Then select the items you wish to clean up.
In the Windows Tab:
• Clean all entries in the "Internet Explorer" section except Cookies.
• Clean all the entries in the "Windows Explorer" section.
• Clean all entries in the "System" section.
• Clean all entries in the "Advanced" section.
• Clean any others that you choose.

In the Applications Tab:
• Clean all except cookies in the Firefox/Mozilla section if you use it.
• Clean all in the Opera section if you use it.
• Clean Sun Java in the Internet Section.
• Clean any others that you choose.

4. Click the "Run Cleaner" button.
5. A pop up box will appear advising this process will permanently delete files from your system.
6. Click "OK" and it will scan and clean your system.
7. Click "exit" when done.
