Default [Resolved] Explorer.exe Crashing along with others

Alright im actually pretty good with computers but im having problems. Whenever I go into certain folders my pc will slow down a little and just loads. Then my explorer.exe will crash. I get DEP Error (Data Execution Prevention ) . Ive looked around all over for answers. My video files that I used to be able to play wont even play. If i try to load certain ones the player i try to use crashes. Ive tried Divx, Windows media player, and winamp. They all crash. I know the videos are perfectly fine because i have tested them elsewhere. I just installed Mcafee security center and its updated. I has not stopped the problem. Any Ideas? I really need this fixed i dont liket o format my drive and install windows again its a major hassle.

Hi deathskrye, welcome to the PC Help Forum.

This sounds unmistakably like malware to me.

Please follow the Prework link in my signiture and post the resulting logs back here, one of the security team will be able to have a look at them for you.

Your logs look ok to me, just do the following steps:

1) Download ATF Cleaner
  • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  • Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browser, do this also:
  • Click Firefox at the top and choose Select All from the list.
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
  • NOTE : If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browser, do this also:
  • Click Opera at the top and choose Select All from the list.
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
  • NOTE : If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

2) Clear your System Restore data store now.
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click System, and then click the Performance tab. Click File System, and then click the Troubleshooting tab. Click to select the Disable System Restore check box, click Apply, click to clear the Disable System Restore check box, click Apply, and then click OK. Restart the computer when you are prompted to do so. When the computer restarts, the data store is purged and the System Restore feature begins monitoring the system again.

3) Now rescan with AVG Anti-spyware and post the log in your next reply. Are you still having your problems?
