[Fixed] Hijackthis! Logs - [Resolved] Malware posted in the Security & Safety forums; I have some malware on my computer. KAV has scanned about 4 times and detected then repaired/deleted in boot scans, but it still comes back. Log attatched....

Default [Resolved] Malware

I have some malware on my computer. KAV has scanned about 4 times and detected then repaired/deleted in boot scans, but it still comes back. Log attatched.

Hello.

Download and install AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5
  • Open AVG Anti-Spyware
  • Click on the Update icon at the top of the window
    • Click on the Start update button
    • Wait for the update to download and install
  • Click on the Scanner icon at the top of the window
    • Click on the Settings tab then select Recommended Options and choose Quarantine
    • Click on the Scan tab
      • Select Complete System Scan. Ewido will now begin to scan your system
  • When the scan has completed, click on the Save Scan Report button and save the scan to your Desktop where it can be easily found
  • Copy and paste the scan results into your next post, along with a new HijackThis log.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {8E8A9E74-0FBB-5246-931E-7EE55B6E1697} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [p2p networking] p2pnetworking.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [p2p networking] p2pnetworking.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Hgpk] C:\Documents and Settings\Ben\Application Data\?ecurity\w?nlogon.exe
O23 - Service: COM+ Messages - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchosts.exe" -e mc-110-12-0000137 (file missing)

Close all other windows except HijackThis and press "Fix Checked". Then close HijackThis and restart the computer.

  1. Please download the Killbox.
  2. Unzip it to the desktop but do NOT run it yet.
  3. Then please reboot into Safe Mode by restarting your computer and pressing F8 as your computer is booting up. Then select the Safe Mode option.
  4. Once in Safe Mode, please run Killbox.
  5. Click "Delete on Reboot".
  6. Paste the following into the top "Full Path of File to Delete" box.
    • C:\Documents and Settings\Ben\Application Data\?ecurity\w?nlogon.exe
  7. Click the red-and-white "Delete File".
  8. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt.
  9. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.
Restart the computer. Rescan with HijackThis and post the new log in your next reply.
