I followed all the intructions but that one file wasn't there when I restarted (after enabling hidden files and unchecking the other box). I've done another hijack this log anyway. Also I noticed that some of the things I deleated have reappeared

thanks for the help

PS. My monitor is completely screwed. If I can get it on at all it takes between 1-2 hours. I don't think I can get it fixed any time soon (no money) and I don't think anyone is replying to my topic so bare with me if I take a while to reply. Having said when I do get it working it stays on, so if I get reply's soon then I should be ok.

thanks again

again, I couldn't find that particular file but I removed it with hijack this and here's another report.

EDIT: My PC is being very slow and is turning itself off without notice. Then not turning back on for 10-15 mins. Could it be related to this?

I think you're bang on the money. I started another thread about random shutdowns and I opened up my PC and cleared out the silly amount of dust that was in there. I've just booted up again and things seem much better already. The temperature of my motherboard is now at a safe level. I didn't realise it before but, you're right it was over heating a lot.

however is it cool to keep this thread open? I still seem to be experiencing some issues. Like I said I've only just cleaned my PC out so I might come across some of the same problems.

thanks again for everyone who's helped so far. I really hope I can be rid of all this stuff once and for all.

lol, I just wish I didn't have this monitor problem still
