Your computer should be clean now, Panda has removed the last of the remaining remnants in the registry.

Are you still encountering your problem?

I don't think you need to fear on that score Brendan.

Default I cant think of a title

"somebody throw me a frik*en bone here" - Dr Evil

It seems that my system is still not right. Please view JPG attached. Story of my life. This error is a particularly bad one that completely shuts down and restarts the pc. I have had this error a few times.

problem is...cant seem to locate the error file it points to (Cocuments\Brendan\blahblahblah)

Also looking at my task manager, there is a pant load of new stuff on there now,,,should i be concerned with any of it?

My PC keeps trying to install my multimedia controller (i assume it's AC97), keeps saying new device found... i was under the impression one had to disable onboard sound and device when doing pro audio with a pro audio card. Then again... i dont get paid to assume do i?

I have a vague idea that this problem may lie with the feature (and power) limited audio engine of my,,,er ,,, feature limited bundled (non Pro) Sonar audio sequencer. But then why does doing any video orientated work on my computer (including burning of large size DVD's) cause, maybe not identical, but very buggy, glitchy errors resulting in shutting down of apps and PC?

I shall jump onto the Sonar forums to see what gems i can mine from the great Kimberly hole of Cakewalk.

Otherwise... what next? possibly a new rap track? i hope not?

Brendan

Hi Brendan,

If you can find the following files, please can you attach the following files back here:

- C \Documents and Settings\Brendan\Local Settings\Temp\WER79ab.dir00\Mini121006-01.dmp
- C \Documents and Settings\Brendan\Local Settings\Temp\bbd2_appcompat.txt

- Go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer and click on the System section.
- Look for event 1001, which should have the following information:

Event ID: 1001
Source: Save Dump
Description:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was ?
...A dump was saved in:.......?

- This will tell you where the location of the dump file is. Can you attach the dump file back here?

Thanks for the response mad monkey,, sorry for my delay, got this stupid thing called work that takes me away from my pc for like 8 or 9 hours a day... what a waste of time...

If you can find the following files, please can you attach the following files back here:

- C \Documents and Settings\Brendan\Local Settings\Temp\WER79ab.dir00\Mini121006-01.dmp
- C \Documents and Settings\Brendan\Local Settings\Temp\bbd2_appcompat.txt
er... the folder " WER79ab.dir00" does not exist on my machine but i found the file at this local:

C:\WINDOWS\Minidump

You asked for file "bbd2_appcompat.txt" - could not find it but found this:

C:\Documents and Settings\Brendan\Local Settings\Temp\WER7eda.dir00\appcompat.txt

Dont know if it's the same thing or unimportant...

Hope these files help

Thanks again in advance for making my huge issue your huge issue. All you guys.

OK, this is the information I got from the minidump.

At the time of this particular error, Nero attempted to write to a specific address either in Memory, HDD, or CD. It's looks to me like RAM, altough I can't be 100% certain. If you have any more dump files you could provide, it would help to narrow the problem down a little more. In the meantime, can you please ensure the following:

- Make sure there is no Memory Management software running. A RAM optimizer for example can cause this error, if it is optimizing at the time these applications are trying to write to memory.

- If you have a floppy drive and a spare floppy disk, please download: http://www.memtest86.com/memt32.zip

- If not, please download, unzip and use nero to burn this image: http://www.memtest86.com/memtest86-3.2.iso.zip

Reboot with the CD/Floppy in the drive and start memtest. This will ensure there are no problems in memory.
