Exclamation [Resolved] it wont stop reseting!!!

so i go to close a window, and then a avg pops up saying, found a new virus, then i click heal. it was "healed" but apparently not. Right after that, it reset and i just went along with it. After getting to the windows boot screen and loads, the screen is black, and then after a couple seconds of blackness, it resets again. What did i do.

oh and did i mention it doesnt stop doing this. untill i shut it off. : /

Hi Ray,

Welcome to PCHF.

Which window do you close down when this message appears?

Also, please can you follow PCHF Prework on my signature. Don't try to fix anything that comes up, but post both AVG and Hijack logs back here. A member of the security team will then post a fix for you.

well it was just a movie my friend was watching on the creative media player, and then avg popped up saying it found a virus, then i clicked heal and then it said like..steam had a error an error and it was shutting down, so i clicked end program and then it went on like it was reseting the computer so i just went with it becuase i didnt really think anything of it. now it doesnt even load windows, it just gets to the windows boot screen, and then it resets after a few seconds of loading.

Virus's can be embedded into video files these days.

Can you get into safe mode by pressing F8 when starting up?

OK, would it be possible for you to follow PCHF Prework and submit your Hijack and AVG log's back here? It would mean putting Hijackthis onto a floppy disk or CD, and then transferring this onto the other PC and then back again. Would this be possible? If your infected, we need to know what the virus is called before we can post a fix.
