it's normal for you to have more then 1...but 1 using 100% is worrying.

svchost.exe basically, are the services that windows is running. There can be several of them running at the same time.

Close all your open windows. Open your command prompt and type in tasklist /svc. Can you type out all the entries relating to svchost.exe? Alternatively you can post a screenshot.

sigh. my computer has been confiscated by my parents. In addition to that, it refused to connect to the network, saying there was an invalid IP adress.

OK. You can bump this thread up by replying once you get your computer back.
