Question

should there be two copies of csrss.exe running? im looking at task manager. one belongs to system and one belongs to the user (my sister)

I just ran a program called Security Task manager it said that the host file had been set to block certain web sites, i deleted all of the blocked websites out of host file and saved it. i can now access the website i wasnt able to before.

Quite a few programs use csrss,so yes, there can be even more than two copies of csrss.exe running. If in doubt all you have to do if find them in your file ststem and look at their properties and that will tell you if they are Microsoft.

alright. ill take a look when i get home to see if theyre both microsoft items.

the only problems the virus is still giving me is if i try to open things that might help me get rid of the virus, the virus will close them. the window will stay open for a few seconds (1-3) and then be closed.

like in the safe mode scan you asked me to do. I had a very difficult time trying to keep services open and the virus will sometimes shutdown AVG completely.
