Default [Resolved] Internet Explorer Hijacked !?

Hi all gurus!!

I need HELP here!

1) I stupidly download a software and installed it. The next thing I know everytime I click on my internet explorer to use, it automatically changes my default page to http://eprottectpage.com. And it blocks my default page as well. I suspected my internet browser has been hijacked. How do I solve this problem?

2) Secondly it installed a small icon at the bottom right of my screen. This icon kept giving an onscreen message every few minutes "Critical System Errors!" and that I need to install some anti-spyware/anti-virus software (which I already have plenty). And when I click on it, it takes me to this website: "Welcome to VirusBusters.com!"

I have tried all sorts of ways to get rid of them using my current AVG anti-virus, SpyBot, AD-Ware, CCleaner, Ewido, etc., but to no avail. I suspect it's in my registry as well.

Can someone recommend an excellent free registry fixer untility to resolve this or have a solution to this nagging 'pain-in-neck' issue?

HELP! , HELP!! much appreciated if you can email me at :

Thanks................

I would strongly recommend that unless a person is absolutely au fait with the Registry not to delete any registry settings at all.

Default Problem Resolved !!

Hi All

Thank you all for your help!! The problem was resolved after I installed and used both 'Trend Micro Anti-Spyware' and 'Free Registry Fix'. I wasn't sure which one fixed or solved the problem. But the main issue is that this nagging messaging on my screen is finally gone (kaput)!!!

Hi
Just to make sure you are clean...

Please download HijackThis. It will create a directory folder for you in C\Program files. Run a scan and save the log file. Post the whole log file here. Do not fix anything since most of them listed there are harmless (some are system required). This program will help determine what,if any, spyware/malware is on your computer.
