Question Expanding Files?

Hi There,
Every so often i do a scan for viruses through Mcafee and at the end of the scan it will list the number of files that the scan goes through. The perplexing thing is from Oct. 3rd '06 the file count was 72009, tonight Oct 27th i scanned and the file count is 79376. I also clean out my temp files, prefetch files, remove cookies occasionally, clear history once in a while and disk clean which i do not think these files have anything to do with what files that are needed but where are all these files coming from if i haven't downloaded any new ones? Thank You Very Much For Your Help,
Willoughby

hello wiloughby...

it's possible that your extra files are just from a few windows updates...

if your concerned about it, follow my prework link and use the ATF-Cleaner. It may help

Hi GaRHar,
In response to your reply, i agree that some of the extra files are window updates as well as Mcafee updates but i'm not sure where the rest of them are coming from. I'm sorry but Microsoft nor HP recommend registry download cleaners or a quick fix download. The problem is there are to many mixed reviews concerning these products. I would rather sit back and relax than worry. Like the old country say'in goes If It ain't broke don't fix it. Thank You Very Much For Your Help, Willoughby
