Default [Resolved] Internet Explorer wont load :o

ok. when i click the IE icon it just acting like i didnt even press it.. it does nothing.

however. when i load some webpage that i've saved on my hard-drive it uses IE to load it.. and then i can basicly use it to surf the net... but thats basicly not cool (and when i do use that way.. my homepage keeps changing back to msn.. its like.. i press "make google my homepage" and then i press the little house icon.. but it still goes to msn.com, so im guessin thats a part of the problem .. lol :P)

i've tried removing it from "add/remove windows components" and readding it.. no help. (i think it just deletes the icons and then addin them back, lame)

my hijackthis log is attached

ill be thankful for any help..

Hya Kulinemel.

Looks like you followed the prework instructions already? If yes, then please post the AVGas log aswell. If you haven't gone trough the Prework yet then please click on the link below in my sig and follow those instructions there.

Also please download and run The Hoster from here. Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program. This will restore the original Hosts file.

And your log shows that you have disabled some startup programs using MSConfig.
This is not recommended because I cannot clearly see everything that is loading on your computer at startup.
To enable all startup items please follow these instructions:
  • Start | Run | type msconfig | OK
  • If not already selected go to the General tab.
  • Under Startup Selection select "Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services".
  • Click Apply and then Close.
  • When given the option to restart or not , please choose to not restart the computer.
  • Post a new HJT log, and the AVGas log when you are done.

Restarting isn't necessary because they will show in an HJT log anyway , and this way the malware (if any) doesn't become active.

Default umm

well.. as far as i know i only disabled stuff like icq and other nonsense..
and there's like .. a lot... of stuff on the list.. so.. i bet it will take a while to load :P

i added the new hijackthis log.
i went over the Prework thing.. and did a AVG scan.. it took like a hour or a bit more.. but then i saw ur post that told me to undisable the msconfig stuff... so... a new scan will take another 1.5 hour +... so ill be thankful if ull look over my new Hijackthis log first ..

ty
(i added the OLD (before msconfig stuff) AVG scan just in case.)

another wierd thing is happening... when i try to burn an audio cd in Nero (i dont know if its new.. havnt burn an audio cd for a while as far as i remember, and mayb its the drive itself gettin old or something)
the burnin process window pops up.. and the "time remaining left" is actually counting down, like it started burning, but nothing happens, the Cdrw isnt even workin, and even when the timer reaches 00:00 still nothing happens... at that point i cant eject my drive until i use Ctrl+Alt+Del to close Nero and all of its stuff, and then i can only eject it using "Eject" button on the drive's icon on My Computer.

:o
i hope u have any clue. thanx

Did you run the Hoster? The entry it should have removed is still there.

Run HijackThis , select to do a "system scan only" and then place a check beside each of the following:

O1 - Hosts: 80.179.153.125 auto.search.msn.com
Now first close all windows and browsers other then HijackThis , then click Fix checked and close HijackThis.

After that reboot your pc, and post a new HijackThis log please.
